Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant provides day-to-day patient care, clerical and billing assistance while working closely with physicians to carry out responsibilities directly connected to caring for patients in a multi-specialty practice

This includes:

  • Taking and recording vital signs, as appropriate to office operations; may assist with routine medical procedures, as appropriate to training and/or certification.
  • Performing administrative duties, including answering telephones, greeting patients, updating and filing patients' medical records, completing insurance forms, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services, and handling billing and filing.
  • Receiving, screening, interviewing, and registering patients.
  • Preparing treatment and examination rooms for patients.
  • Drawing blood and performing routine blood tests.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required.
  • Critical thinker with excellent communication and strong organizational, team building, decision making and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task, work calmly under pressure and attention to detail required.
